ACT-SO Committee

This committee focuses on recruiting, stimulating, and encouraging high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students through a year-round program culminating in competitions.

Armed Services and Veterans Affairs

This committee works to ensure fair treatment for minority members of the Armed Services and veterans, serves as an information center, addresses discrimination complaints, and advocates for issues like mental health and economic empowerment.

Communications, Press and Publicity

This committee promotes media content aligned with the NAACP's mission, secures publicity for the branch, works against employment discrimination in communications, and handles external communications and social media.

Community Coordination

The Community Coordination Committee of the ATL NAACP Branch is dedicated to building strong, strategic partnerships with community organizations, advocacy groups, faith institutions, and civic leaders.

Criminal Justice

This committee works to eliminate unfair sentencing, supports effective law enforcement, advocates for voting rights restoration for formerly incarcerated individuals, and addresses systemic issues in the justice system.

Economic Development

The committee works to expand economic empowerment in minority communities by promoting business ownership, increasing employment, encouraging home ownership, and building relationships with various entities.

Education

This committee addresses segregation and discrimination in public education, studies local educational conditions for minority groups, promotes parental involvement, and investigates issues like school zoning and textbook content.

Environmental

This committee addresses environmental inequities, advocates for civil rights related to the environment, works to reduce pollution, promotes clean energy, and supports disaster-resilient infrastructure policies.

Finance

This committee oversees the branch's finances, including budgeting, and collaborates with the Freedom Fund Committee on fundraising.

Freedom Fund

This committee plans and conducts fundraising activities for both local and national NAACP programs.

Health

The Health Committee promotes and maintains the health of African Americans by assessing community needs, advocating for equal healthcare access, and sponsoring health-related events.

Hospitality

The Hospitality Committee fosters unity and fellowship by welcoming guests, supporting event operations, and ensuring a warm, professional experience at every gathering.

Housing

This committee studies local housing conditions, addresses complaints of housing discrimination, and opposes discriminatory housing practices.

Labor and Industry

This committee aims to improve the economic status of minority groups by working against discriminatory employment practices and promoting equal opportunities.

Legal Redress

This committee investigates alleged discrimination cases, supervises relevant litigation (without providing legal advice), and keeps the national office informed.

Membership

This committee focuses on increasing and maintaining the branch's membership through continuous solicitation and the annual membership campaign.

Mentoring | Empowering | New Leaders (M.E.N.)

The M.E.N. Committee mentors and develops young men into future leaders through positive role models, leadership training, and community engagement—empowering them to lead with integrity, purpose, and responsibility while strengthening families and communities.

Political Action

This committee works to increase voter registration and participation, advocates for legislation benefiting minority groups, seeks the repeal of discriminatory laws, and promotes equal enforcement of the law, while remaining non-partisan.

Religious Affairs

Composed of religious leaders, this committee promotes an educational program interpreting the civil rights struggle, explains the NAACP's work to religious groups, and enlists their support for membership and fundraising.

Women In the NAACP (WIN)

WIN advocates for issues affecting women and children, aims to enhance women's leadership roles, supports children's development, and assists with the NAACP's overall work.

Youth Works

This committee supports youth councils and college chapters, informs youth about issues affecting minority groups, works to advance their status, and develops youth leadership.
