Safe, Fair, and Affordable Housing Is a Civil Right

The Housing Committee of the ATL NAACP Branch is committed to ensuring that all residents have access to safe, affordable, and equitable housing. We work to eliminate housing discrimination and address systemic barriers that prevent individuals and families from securing stable homes. Housing stability is essential to economic security, health, and educational success.

As Atlanta continues to grow and develop, many long-standing communities face rising housing costs, displacement, and limited access to affordable options. The Housing Committee advocates for fair housing policies, tenant protections, and responsible development that prioritizes people over profit. We work closely with policymakers, housing agencies, and community partners to promote inclusive growth and prevent displacement.

Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, the Housing Committee empowers residents to understand their rights and take action. Our efforts focus on protecting renters and homeowners, strengthening neighborhoods, and ensuring that Atlanta’s future includes housing opportunities for all.
