About us

Over 116 Years of Leadership and Legacy

We are the home of grassroots activism, bold leadership, and unwavering purpose.

Founded in 1909, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the nation’s oldest and most respected civil rights organization. For generations, we have fought for justice at every level — from the ballot box to the classroom, from courtrooms to corporations — ensuring equality for all people, regardless of race or background. Today, the NAACP Atlanta Branch continues this proud legacy by tackling modern challenges such as:
  • voter suppression

  • health & education equity

  • economic inequality

  • criminal justice reform

Our Mission

Our mission is to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.

Our Vision

We envision an inclusive community rooted in liberation where all persons can exercise their civil and human rights without discrimination.

Black Consumer Advisory

The Black Consumer Advisory informs and cautions Black consumers about the ongoing and intentional rollback of nationwide diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments.
