Protecting the Vote. Advancing Policy. Strengthening Democracy

Rev. J. D. Flint is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, where he has spent most of his life and built a strong record of service, leadership, and advocacy. A proud product of the Atlanta Public School System, he is a graduate of Booker T. Washington Comprehensive High School, where he served as Student Government President.

While pursuing his undergraduate studies in Business Administration, Rev. Flint felt a deep calling to continue his family’s military tradition and enlisted in the United States Army. He served honorably for eight years, including a tour of duty in Afghanistan with Combined Joint Task Force–76. His military service earned him several distinctions, including the Army’s Meritorious Service Medal and the Afghanistan Service Medal, as well as recognition as a Top New Army Reserve Recruiter.

Rev. Flint’s professional background spans the political, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. He has worked on the campaigns of two Atlanta mayors and has been recognized for his leadership and community impact, including being named Young Man of the Year by Atlanta’s Concerned Black Clergy.

Currently, Rev. Flint is a student at Grace Theological Seminary, where he is pursuing his Master of Divinity. In June 2022, he accepted the call to serve as Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Whitesburg, Georgia, where he continues to lead with faith, purpose, and a commitment to community empowerment.

As the newly appointed Chair of the Political Action Committee of the ATL NAACP Branch, Rev. Flint brings a values-driven approach to civic engagement. The committee works to protect voting rights, increase civic participation, and advance public policies that promote civil rights, equity, and justice. Through education, advocacy, and mobilization, the committee addresses barriers to participation while championing fair and inclusive democratic practices.
