Morocco Coleman

A Lifetime of Service to Veterans, Justice, and Opportunity

Morocco Coleman is a decorated Vietnam Veteran whose life has been devoted to serving veterans and advancing their access to employment, benefits, and justice.

He served honorably in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970 and received numerous military honors, including the Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Campaign Bronze Stars, and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation.

Following his military service, Mr. Coleman dedicated more than 30 years to public service with the Georgia Department of Labor, retiring in 1999 as Assistant Director of the Office of Veterans Programs. He led statewide veterans’ employment and training initiatives and served as a key advisor on veterans’ workforce policy.

A longtime civil rights advocate, Mr. Coleman is the ATL NAACP Branch Chairman of the Armed Services and Veterans Affairs Committee and currently serves as Chairman of Veterans Employment and Training for the Congressional Black Caucus Veterans Braintrust.

He is the author of Coming Full Circle, an alumnus of North Carolina Central University, and is married to Paula Jarrett-Coleman.
