We, the people of the United States,
in order to form a more perfect union:
Establish justice,
Insure domestic tranquility,
Provide for the common defense,
Promote the general welfare,
And secure the blessings of liberty…

These are the opening lines of the preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America, but David, do these words reflect your lived experience?

We know the answer to that.

While some leaders of this country have strayed from those initial promises, what hasn’t changed is the power of We, the people.

Amidst the unbearable cost of living, ICE agents in our streets, and the growing threat of voter suppression, join us for the 117th NAACP National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, to plot the path forward.

From July 18–22, we’re ready to exchange ideas, build community, and establish solutions to what impacts us most. This year’s theme, “We The People,” reminds us that democracy is strongest when everyone has a voice.
